Scilly Isles - lovely!! would have been our Golden on 28th March this year - we would most likely have gone back to Jersey where we spent an idyllic honeymoon - still, it wasn't to be so it'll be a rather sad day one way and another

We had our 40th Wedding Anniversary in August last year.
Still love each other very much, and we are best friends.

Not saying we haven't ever argued but as we've got older we've both mellowed.

O.H is just such a nice, kind man...and he puts up with me

Just been having a nose about. Are there any of you still around. Things are still well with me, as I trust they are with all of you.

Married my OH after being widowed 4 years ealier, he was my first hubbys mate. He has been a loving dad to my two sons and great dad to our daughter, although they are now going through a bad time, she is 15, gorgeous but thinks she knows everything!

Thinks he is Peter Pan, absoluteley brilliant wth my grand daughter (18 months). Ga Ga can do no wrong.

We have gone through a bad 8 years, business failure, redundancy and unemployment. He can be a pain in the bum, to put it mildly, but he can always make me laugh and buys me the odd bar of choccy.

Love and laughter make the world go around.

Love you Babe.

xx

I met my OH when I was nearly 18, he was 20, and we will have been married 28 years at the end of the month.

*he says that I look the same today as I did then, but that might be because I hid his glasses 20 years ago*

Popped on here before going to bed and soo glad I did!
Wonderful to read this thread again. ;O) and sincerely hope all are still well.

We've been married 47 happy years, and still say "I love you"... feel it's important to take care of each other and never take one another for granted!
.......Still hold hands when out for walks.....

Good night everyone

Good to see this is still going strong but so sad to see that at least one person on the boards no longer has the love of her life still with her.

Aw Ann, that is so lovely! Congratulations!

I missed this thread... was having health blips at the time, going by the dates, lol

I have been married to him indoors for 371/2 years, in fact, on the 28th November it will be 39 years since we got engaged, lol....

He is my rock, my best friend, and the love of my life. And the best bit is, I know he feels the same way about me. He is very quiet (I am not) but tells me he loves me every day... he still makes my heart leap, and yeh, I still stand in the spare bedroom window watching for his car coming home from work, lol

Love

Daff xxxx

well thanks folks - not saying it's love, but it's just really nice - imagine me finding someone though the net - my friends thought I was mad to meet him but I knew I was spot on in assessing him as a lovely guy after lots of emails - slightly worrying is the fact that he is a lot younger than me!!! I have a toy boy!!!!

UzziAndHerDogs Report 10 Nov 2009 11:56

Ann of GG good to hear that you now have the hugs and kisses again. Don't worry about the toy boy bit, I still wait for mine to come home and he still rushes home to me.

Hmmm..... Not sure about the love bit !

I met my husband 44 yrs ago and we are still together, what drew me to him was that I felt comfortable with him, safe and loved his company.
I can honestly say I don't get that skipped heart beat, but I don't seem to want to be apart from him.
But I do get the urge to grab his back when he is sat at his computer !!

Maybe I got a funny heart..........LOL

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 10 Nov 2009 16:14

well don't go grabbing anything else - remember computers can be delicate!!!!!!
