Has anybody else been reading about the man who is quite evidently narcissistic and is being prosecuted for child cruelty by his 26 year old daughter?

I have been following it in the Daily Mirror.

I have read your thread in the past, I will pop back in the week for a chat.

The only freedom from a Mother such as mine was not when she died but 6 years later when my much loved Dad died.

I then had access to all the family papers and at last began to understand why she was as she was.

I have not seen the case in the paper but I know so many people who were ruined by their Childhoods.

I had a phone call tonight (about 7.50p.m. at the interesting bit in Corrie) when my aunt telephoned, she lives in the north, haven't seen her for years but we keep in touch regularly.

Wait for it she will be 88 this June and she has only now come to terms with what her mother was. I could have told her the term. A few weeks ago I told her to get a pad/large diary and write everything down. She has finished it today and feels better more so apparently after she told me the heading she had given it 'My mother was a first class bxxxh'.

So an old lady has long last got rid of the guilt she felt over having a heartless, interfering mother (who even meddled in her marriage) and held her to emotional blackmail. As usual in all of these cases to the outsiders Nana was a sweet endearing old lady who loved all her family!

Oh I am pleased for her.Please print off the article and send it to her.

I have begun to write my lifestory down, which doesn't sound presumtious in any way at all does it? It is called 'My Mummy'.

I am sure we all felt so very isolated in our guilt and misery.How great that your aunt was able to open up to you I have found that nobody wants to hear.

My Mother isn't a narcissistic mother she is just a hateful cow at times.

I hope this thread helps others along with my more amusing take on a mother who rules !

I was just so pleased when I found the article in question because It finally brought it all together, showed that I was not the only person living that hell,although we all think we are,and allowed me to share it with others.

where to start. I'll just say two things that come to mind.

My g/mother and mother were found huddled in the bathroom reading my diary the evening before my wedding

My g/mother hit me repeatedly on the head when I returned from school aged ten having found out where babies came from and telling another child.

it still continues but I am limiting contact. Trying to. Finally. I'm a g/mother myself now.

Lavender, iI cut off all contact with my mother at age 20 and have never regretted it. I did go to her funeral to support my younger brother and my Dad. Dad had been a victim of her nastiness too.

It is hard when one cares much about ones father. Yes, he suffers too but is in denial. Sorry you had to go through all that, Jean.
