In my teenage yrs if i moaned that something wasn't fair the response was always, "what, a black man's a**e?"

My Nan's favourite saying seemed to be "f**k a duck"

If something surprised her, mum would say "Well!,
I'll go to Halifax" (Why Halifax?) and if something happened unexpectedly e.g. a door swinging open for no apparent reason, she would say "It's the man from
Liverpool". All the more strange as she was Welsh.

My nan would always say,ner cast a clout till may is out.This was supposed to mean dont go out without a warm coat or jumper till may is out as the weather can soon change! also if someone had paid you a visit and were on the way home she would say keep out the oss roads.in her younger days horses were used to pull carts etc so you had to keep an eye out,this saying means keep safe on the road home,lol.we live in the west midlands.
