I missed the birth but came in just as they were removing the babies and mother.
Poor thing you can see she's distressed and searching ....maybe this will start her off very soon.

She's getting stroppy with the others :(

Blue Moon Report 20 Mar 2008 22:40

It is just so cruel they let her bond with the lamb,
i wonder if the lamb will have trouble bonding with her mother now or mother with lamb because the other sheep's sent will be all over it

Blue Moon

Blue Moon Report 20 Mar 2008 23:03

Tina

The staff let another sheep bond with a new born lamb instead of keeping the Mum and babies apart from the other sheep.

They were just sat on the feed fence not putting the pen around the mum and babies

°o.OOº°‘¨Claire in Wales¨‘°ºOO.o° Report 20 Mar 2008 23:15

After the twins were born another sheep came to help clean them up. The twins got split up, one with the Mum & the other with her friend.
The men arrived to put the playpen up, picked up one of the lambs but the wrong sheep followed. In the end they had to pick up both lambs & had trouble keeping the friend from following. The Mum & twin were taken off somewhere.
The friend then got very upset & was looking all around the pen looking for "her" baby.

That's shocking - I hope this web cam is taped and someone can see how cruel those people have been.
That's bang out of order. They are not learnning much about husbandry then are they if they are acting like that!

Thanks Sue.
and thank you too Claire

Harpstrings

Harpstrings Report 20 Mar 2008 23:21

oh dear, this is when I am glad we cannot hear them. I think she is calling for it?

 Sue In Yorkshire.

Sue In Yorkshire. Report 20 Mar 2008 23:21

No they don't know anything about husbandry.or they would have separated them straight away.

I used to help a friend at lambing time and that was the first thing we did was separate the sheep and new lambs from the rest of the flock.

It's heartbreaking just watching her looking for the lamb.

You would think there would be somebody there in charge and with experience - surely to goodness there is in case of complications?

I was thinking that, they all look calmer. I hope she has her baby soon bless her to take her mind off the other one.

Do you know I could quite easily turn vegetarian after watching this!
