My ex lost out on a lovely daughter growing up...& is now losing out on Grandchildren. So who was the loser.

Hi Carol, same with me, I met a great man....he counselled me, cried with me when I told him all the real bad stuff, helped me through it all.......he has helped to heal my pain. I am lucky!!

I will never forget what I went through with my ex......but I have learned to forgive....because growing old & bitter was never an option for me & was never a satisfaction I would give to my ex.

I felt ashamed......never felt proud of anything cos looking back, I was turned into this non confident person. I felt whatever I did was never enough or good enough, because when you get told it all the time, you believe it.

Thanks, Taff.
Whirley and Ladybird - Yes, it helps to talk about it, when you're ready.
Carol - I, totally, agree.

My lawyer said that I should divorce him now and if I changed my mind later I could re-marry him. But there has never been one single moment of one single day when I wanted him back. Life was tough with three little children (aged 2, 4 and 6) But it was a whole lot better than being beaten or verbally abused, whenever he chose!

I have never re-married because I have not found anyone I could love as much as I loved him! I am absolutely sure that he was the one who lost. He lost 3 lovely children, who have grown up to be terrific adults. He lost all the memories of when the children were growing up. What have I lost? Nothing! I have regained my confidence and I am able to live my life the way that pleases me. Selfish? No, because my children, now 28, 25 and 23 always come first, all the time.

Ladybird - You reminded me - my brother (before he gave up cigs) used to say that a cup of coffee and a cig does less harm than a Valium!!!
