I'd like to know who the members were who filled in this questionnaire in the first place and why they agreed to the prices going up, secondly I'd like to know why i didnt see this questionnaire, also the majority of members had to vote yes for a price raise in order for the prices to go up. I dont mind paying more, if i got more, this site offers a board to use, the fee paying members, give tips for free, do look ups for free ( even though they pay another site ) help each other for free, guide each other for free, be a shoulder for people to cry on for free, etc etc, the list is endless. So to me, when i first joined it was £5, then £7.50 and now £9.95. For what, hot matches i dont use, nor do i use the 1901 which you pay for anyway. So basically hot matches has cost me an extra £4.95, well id rather be blocked from that then and pay my original price of £5. I will pay more, if they offer more. fair is fair. oh and isn't it discrimination that if i click a certain box for it to be continuous, then i pay one fee, but because i choice to pay when its due, then i get charged more. I'm sure they cant do that, what happened to freedom of choice then ? Its not about money, its the principle of the matter and choice. :-) Oh and another thing, i will not re-new in April, just to use the tips and general boards for that amount, i only pay £5 on another site which offers so much it takes ages to get around, and then there are the sites that are free. :-) |

Can I just reiterate.. I renewed today, 2nd year of membership, I do NOT have continuous membership. I logged in today to see the message below on my homepage. ''Hello ‹(•¿•)› Service message - Your full membership will soon expire. Renew now - it's just £7.50 GBP for a whole year. Click here'' My membership was due to expire on 26th March 2006 I will be checking my statement to make sure I have been charged £7.50. Anyone who has been charged more, COMPLAIN, I know I would. Thanks for your encouragement, Sam. My renewal due 20 March, second year of membership, not continuous, message reads: 'Service message - Your full membership will soon expire. Renew now - it's just £9.95 GBP for a whole year.' Am certainly querying what GR thinks it's doing. Regards, Carol |

On 28 Feb I received email saying membership would expire 13 March. I was NOT on continuous. Said renewal would be £9.95. I emailed back and asked if I changed it to continuous would I be charged £7.50 instead. Answer came back yes. Have just received receipt in email box renewing membership and confirming that they have taken £7.50 Hope this is of help Dawn |

This has been a continuous bone of contenetion since the beginning of the year. The moral is - don't pay by credit card but send a cheque then there is no way they can deduct any old amount. Details of where to send it are on site. They renewed mine as soon as they received it - carefully timed to arrive to coincide with renewal date but did not pay cheque in until about a month later ! |

I sent a rather 'straight' e.mail to them after posting last night. So far, I have NOT had a reply. I am not renewing .......simple as that. I give more than I ever take from this site ...... already paying for the privelage of being a member - then pay for all the outside resources .... Smiley Sammy: you and I joined the same date :-) Elaine :-( with less than 12 days left. PS. Heading should be GR taking P not GR taking money |

Hi All, Have just received response from GR re renewal sub being £7.50 for some and £9.95 for others: 'Thank you for your email. The renewal price is £9.95 for members, except for those members who selected the auto renewal option. These people will be renewed at the price quoted at the time they selected the auto renewal. We appreciate you taking the time to contact us.' From other messages on this thread, we know this is just not true - the amount you're charged seems to be a bit of a lottery! Carol (feeling discriminated against) |
