I have my great great grandfathers marriage certificate in birmingham, it says his father is Edward and he is a commercial traveller but i can not find a birth certificate at all.. there are many John Edward Parrys but not birthdays July which we know it was.. ( death cert makes him 1878) I can find two edwards with Johns in the census to give some ideas on areas, great broughton and wales, I need the birth certiciate to get the mother to move forward but how do i know which to go for ANY HELP PLEASE LOOK UPS TO CONFIRM GREATLY RECIEVED dont suppose anyone knows how to find fathers without sending for certificates???? HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP im so frustrated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sharon |

Sharon what was your Great Great Grandfather's name & was it him who was born in 1878 or his father? The only Edward Parry who is a commercial traveller on the 1881 census is this one... You don't need to include the father's name when you order the birth cert. If something doesn't quite match they won't send the cert. Same with marriage certs. Only specify one name. |

He may not have known his father's name so the name he put on the marriage certificate for dad could have been the name that dad was called by his friends. Perhaps dad's friends/family called him Ted or Edward as that was the name he preferred to be known by. His real name could have been anything - with possibly Edward as a middle name. |

ROSE - ITS WITH MY MOTHER IN LAW - who lost the whole book i did for her for her and father in law christmas pressy two years ago - not being toooooooooo experiences i didnt log witness's early on.. bit of a mistake i know now,as they often actually give you other members of the family you are looking for grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
