I wonder if someone could kindly help with the following.

Richard Woan born 1908 in Preston Lancashire and his brother Peter Roland Woan born 1912 also in Preston were the sons of Robert Woan born 1890 and died 1942 and Elizabeth Heaton born 1890c (don’t know where). They married in 1908 in Preston.
Can’t find a marriage or death for the sons and can’t find a death for Elizabeth. Wondered if she married again after Robert died.

Peter’s second name is Roland - no ‘W’. Might help with search

Thank you for that. I found the marriage of Robert and Elizabeth on the Lancashire website and the birth of their sons. I’ve amended Peter’s second name. Unfortunately I don’t have access to census records.

2 x Richard Woan births - of which either could be a death in June Qtr 1909, depending on birth date.

Only Richard with no mmn could have been officially 4 in 1911 (census 2 April), but unlikely to have been the death in that case. But age mistakes do happen in census.

Can’t see any of them in 1939 at the moment

How do you know Elizabeth’s birth year?

I’ve looked on the freebmd.org.uk and Family Search. I can find Robert and his parents plus christening date on Family search but nothing else.
I’m sorry that the birth date for Elizabeth is only a guess 1890c. I think I would be better getting the marriage certificate for Robert and Elizabeth then I would have a better idea.

Just wondered if Elizabeth is back with her family but wonder where her husband is.
If Robert s her husband and she has been married for 3 years then she did get married in 1908 and it was just their children that wasn’t theirs.
As I say I’ll look into it further.

The father’s name on the 1912 baptism may be an error. There is only one Woan/Heaton marriage which pre-dates the baptism, and there is no marriage for a Peter Woan before 1963
