Thank you all for your help. She recalls Olive as looking like an old woman but she admits that she was in reality probably only about 60(ish) so that could be her born in 1927. We do have a few couple of coloured photos of Thomas and this backs up my mothers description of him, very dark skinned and dark features. I also called my uncle, who is older than my mother and would have been around 26 when Thomas died for his description of him and he gave the same description: dark dark skin and almost black eyes - he described them as 'crow like'. He also said he had often wondered growing up if Thomas had been illegitimately conceived with one of the Arab's that populated the area at the time and George and infact not actually been his father. |
