Hello peeps,

I am posting this query in the hope that someone may be able to put me in the right direction. I am trying to find the birth record and parents and their info for my husbands 2x great grandfather George Evans. I have his MC that is also on ancestry. He married Viola Sophia Hayter 1874 St Annes Limehouse Middlesex. It only states "of full age" so I cant get an estimated DOB. Occupation a publican. His father is Alfred Evans also a Publican. Address was 56 Ben Jonson Rd but that address was of the Hayter family.
I have hunted through a few different genealogy websites trying to find either George or his father Alfred on a census return with no luck. I have George and his wife Viola emmigrating to New Zealand Nov 1874 from Middlesex and it shows his age so he was born abt 1846. But I cant find anything on George or Alfred pre then. Someone on Geni has George as George Alexander Evans but again, I cannot find any record that confirms he has this middle name. I have messaged the owner of that tree and he cant recall where he got the info from. His MC only has George and the passenger list has only George. I havent even been able to find his death record in NZ other than that he died pre 1936 when his wife died as a widow.

I have also tried uploading my ged file on genes Reunited but when I do, everyone is detached. Like myself as the home person, it doesnt show my parents but they are on my tree. So I go link them to me then their parents arent attached so I have to go and attach them. Why is this happening? Its not worth me going through and fixing all the links because there are over 5000 people in my tree and its just not practical.

I am seeking a family named EVANS I have a marriage certificate, for England, dated 29th June 1874 for George Evans and Viola Sophia Hayter apparently they then went to New Zealand that year.....

The next year 1875, George's father Alfred Evans also went to New Zealand, he had with him some of his children?

The boat that Alfred Evans travelled on was named the "HOWRAH" 1875..

I would be interested in anyone named EVANS on this ships.

I do believe Viola's parents Emmanuel and Mary died when Viola was very young and George Alexander FULTON adopted her. The earlier census has her as his niece then the one after that has her as his daughter. I did notice on her MC she has George Alexander Hayter as her father and there is a George Alexander Fulton as a witness. I believe there is an error with the birth fathers name on her MC and it should have been Emmanuel William Hayter.
