On sidelines of my research

Ellis Ratner died 1917 cut his sister Cecilia out of his will

leaving his dentist business to a brother Morris

his estate divided between his father David Ratner

widowed sister ,neice
and other sister Sarah

I wondered why Cecilia was left out ;internet searches just keep coming up with dresses when i google her name

my browser is not compatible with Family Search which seems go forr research in USA

Ellis's father David Ratner was aged 59 in 1910 US Census b.Russia 1851

His children were named as Morris ,Allens .Celia Sarah and Lena the latter was already married)

I'm trying to find out if Allens is a version of Ellis
or if that is another brother .

1910 census apparently Morris aged 30 + Allens aged 26 were both dentists

This 1940 Morris married to Sarah is a bit young to be our dentist

The 1917 death for Ellis Ratner so Allens must just have been a strange transcription in 1910

Cecilia was born in 1886 in russia
d1980 aged 95 in Danbury Connecticut husband

Charles Silk was a physician according to 1930 census.
The couple show on Ellis Island records for October 1912 as US citizens sailing from St John's Newfoundland - honeymoon perhaps?
The other benefactors were widowed or unmarried

I believe our Ratners came to USA in 1893

1n 1902 our Lena Ratner married Bernd Fellman

He died in 1906
Lena Fellman remained a widow until her death 1966

they only had 1 child Tilly /Matilda Fellman b. NY1904-1982

i don't know if Sarah Ratner married
she was 23 in 1910 census

Called Sadie Ratner in the report about Ellis's will so she would have been still single at 30

I cant access this info on Family search (wrong Browsre) but was given this info
the 1925 NY state census,

Charles & Cecelia Silk and Sadie Ratner are at 59 Elmont Ave., Port Chester, New York.

Charles is a medical doctor, had been in the US for 37 years, and it says he was naturalized in New York City in 1896.

Cecelia and Sadie had been in the US for 32 years,

Sadie was naturalized in NY city in 1917. Cecelia's occupation was housework, and Sadie was a horticulturist.


Sadie must have moved with her sister from New York to New Jersey
