His service records would still be with the MOD. Only records prior to 1922 are on line. If he died 25 years or more ago, you can apply for a copy otherwise you would have to prove kinship with copies of certificates. As you can't identify your Mum's birth, that's a bit tricky |

Hi Kay, I have seen the marriage certificate, I will check again. Know there wasn't a grandfather as he had already died. I haven't got anybody I can ask that's why it's so frustrating. |

Have you looked for the father / brother on immigration lists to see who is travelling with him? |

Would the father in the army especially serving in India in 1942 at the height of the war and travel by sea, when ships were being blown out the water left right and centre risk bringing a baby?it would have been very very difficult. |
