Looking at those service records and comparing with Hyacinth's history, I would say that Alexander embarked as she sailed in 1903 to relieve her sister ship HMS Highflyer as flagship of the East Indies Station. His character and ability are then reported annually ie to 31st December each year, last being Dec 1905, when I think that his character and ability are recorded as VG - ie Very Good. There is then an entry 1 Jan 06 - 3 Jan '06 by which is the notation DD. A very short time in which to be Dishonourably Discharged, although not impossible. |

Hello Jean. I am so pleased that you have found Alexander after all this time. You must be so excited. Is that all you Moores accounted for now? |

Very sad that he died so young. His poor mother probably didn't find out for weeks and was probably counting on his pay to help provide for the family. I wonder if his brother Henry enlisted too. |

I have been looking for Henry again since finding Alexander but still nothing for him as yet , but I am keeping my fingers crossed he pops up out of the blue like his brother . |
