There are two possibles for Thomas in 1851 in Hindley but, going on his father's occuapation of bricklayer I would go with this one, especially as living next door is John Cowburn who has a neice ,Catherine Unsworth, living with him:

Clarissa Cowburn 54
Ann Cowburn 19
Thomas Cowburn 10

So, that brings us back to trying to find Isaac's baptism!

One of Isaac's children was baptised in a Non-Conformist church - possibly Isaac was as well:

Sorry, Deborah, still cannot find Isaac's baptism.
Online records for Westhoughton seem to start at 1801 just too late for Isaac.

There is an online parish clerk for there on lan-opc site. Maybe be if you contact her she will be able to help. To find her, click on Westhoughton in the Parishes list and then click on the email symbol - in a square at the left of the screen.

I know that in past others have found the online parish clerks very helpful.
