A friend has asked me if I can find any info on: Samuel Hislop born abt 1900 perhaps in Portsmouth or Romey, who married Catherine Phillips. Who were their parents ? I thought I would ask for help on here... any offers ? (Catherine may have had a middle name beginning with the letter A ?) That's all the info I was given.

I had a chat with my friend about this, and the info above does fit. Regarding Samuel, it seems he was just called that for some reason.

I would like to know more about Catherine A Phillips parents... ? I have been told by my friend that her father had some high rank in the army, I think WW1 ? Catherine A Phillips married a person with the surname: Hislop.

If the Catherine Phillips whose details GlitterBaby posted in June is the correct one, this may be her birth:

I've just had a chat with him on the 'phone about this, and he is pretty sure that Catherine A Phillips who was born in Bransgore, Christchurch, Hampshire is the correct family line... So, it seems her father was John Phillips, mother: Leslie (spelted without the y) maiden surname unknown at the moment... ?
