I do find this sentence of yours very patronizing, as I have been using this site for over 9 years .................

"Don’t forget that as soon as anyone adds to a thread it moves it back to the top of the board, keeping it current."


I'm not yet in my dotage ...............

............... and most of us spend time EVERY SINGLE DAY posting on threads to keep them current, for one reason or another


This will probably not be one of the ones that I look for.

"We don’t have any plans to do this at the moment. We only pre approve posts for the Success Board. We feel the system in place at the moment works perfectly well, as soon as someone request reviews the post is removed instantly. What I will do is have a look at the last few pages of posts on the Living Relatives Board to see if we do need to review the way this is done."


Natasha, you do not seem aware that, some while ago, GR staff said consideration would be given to the find living relatives board's posts being seen first by GR before being seen publicly.

We are aware that members would like posts to be pre-approved. This suggestion has been passed to the product team. I can't say when this will be discussed as we have other projects on the go at the moment which are taking priority. I think most of you know that our team is pretty small. So this does mean we have to prioritise the work we do. I realise this is frustrating when you are giving me so many great suggestions, but we are really trying to do as much as we can to improve the site.

Natasha, as I posted previously, it was some while ago that GR staff said consideration would be given to the find living relatives board's posts being seen first by GR before being seen publicly. By some while ago, I was being generous; it was probably about a year ago.

Hi Jonesey,
Well, thank you. I have been busy reading previous threads, answering Q’s and replying to PM’s. I have also been going through the Suggestions Board and making a note of the suggestions made by members. I’ll be creating a suggestions round up thread from next week. I do have other work commitments in running the Social Media and PR side of Genes Reunited but I am checking the community boards each day.

Are the Support Team based in the UK and have English as their first language?

Getting a bit fed up with the inability of some of the Team to read properly a message with a question before they answer.

Just to add some background info to my previous comment.

Tell the Team there is a problem using the site and inform them in the message what operating system I am using.

Reply is what operating system am I using.


Tell the Team about a problem and include in the message exactly what I am clicking on, what happens and what messages I am getting.

Reply what exactly are you doing when you get the problem.


Ask a question about posts being sent for review.

Reply - I am told how to report a post.


The Team seem totally incapable of actually reading the messages before they reply.

It is now getting to the stage when I think there is an alarm system that goes off when I send anything to the Team.

That happens to me as well. I usually have to send a second message, which does get a proper response.

Beginning to think that posting any suggestion or problems about this site are a complete and utter waste of time.

A lot of good suggestions made over on that board have not even been mentioned.



Also still waiting for a reply sent to Support Team on Thursday but as I was asking a question then as per usual it does not get answered. No surprise with that then.
