I am so new to this, as you all know by now, that I don't know if I have gone down the right ancestry road or not? Give here details I have - please tell me if you think correct or not? Father's name: Henry Edwin Buggs, born Fulham, London 1914 died Dorset 1970 - married Susan Ellen Skinner, born Kensington, London, 1910 died Dorset 1997. From my father's birth registration found mother's name Susan, nee Colley. Her marriage certificate 1913 London married to Henry James Buggs (my paternal grandfather) d.o.b. c1890 death c 1953. On marriage certificate his father's name given as Henry deceased - licensed vitualler. Which led me to Meopham in Kent, Cricketers Inn. Have gone quite a way back but there are so many "Buggs" in Meopham and Kent generally that I am at a loss now! Keep going off on a tangent but just getting more and more confused!
Help am I on the right track?

Henry Edwin Buggs birth cert names his mum as Susan Colley
and dad as Henry James Buggs b 1890 died c1953 .They married 1913 London

Henry James is given as deceased on Henry Edwins marriage cert and was a licenced victualler

So where did Henry Edwin marry Susan and where does Meopham come into the equation

cant see how you ended up in Meopham ??

The 1891 ancestry census gives them in the Cricketers Arms, with an aunt and sister-in-law as bonus. (Henry James as baby), which is presumably just what you have found.

are you saying that on Henry JAMES marriage cert to Susan Colley his father also a Henry was the licenced victualler and deceased when Henry JAMES married in 1913 ??

I ended up in Meopham by way of Henry Buggs (deceased - licensed vitualler) on the marriage certificate of Henry James Buggs and Susan Colley. My paternal grandparents.

He must of been the only one that came up?

Yes I am trying to work backwards systematically but keep coming up with more and more Buggs.....

What I really need now is someone to confirm that my grandfather's father was Henry Buggs b 1860 Meopham, Kent m Amy nee Bale and his father was James Buggs b 1822 Meopham m Elvira (maybe nee Chipperfield)

I think I have got to the point where I need some professional help! My children think I am obsessed - and I am going through printer ink and paper like there is no tomorrow!!!
