you need to buy a few certificates ie Henry birth of 1890 His parents marriage etc
The Cricketers Inn Is in the family for many years and does have sisters in law etc working there from time to time which confirms maiden names of the wives.

Patchem, Yes I got there myself but needed confirmation that I had gone down the right road? AND now I don't know which way to go as there (as stated previously) so many Buggs!! AND there was I thinking it was an unusual name!!!
I have read from tips/blog etc., that it is so easy to be caught up in what I hopes/assume is the right way only to find that I have been going completely off in the wrong direction///!
Have you been doing this for long - you seem to know what you are talking about
Still wanting confirmation that I am on the right track??? . Still asking for any takers to research my family tree!!!!
Have to close now as still have to cash up for the day and go home and eat! Thanks everyone Doreen

Hang on am I invisible !
Why do you need someone to research your tree.I have given you a loads of info and taken it way back.
If you need proof its YOUR tree then buy grandads birth cert.and work back from there.his parents name will be on the cert
Name: Henry James Buggs Year of Registration: 1890 Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec District: Strood (1885-1923) County: Kent Volume: 2a Page: 502
Henry James stated his dads name on his marrige cert and said he was deceaesed and his dads death cert ref has been posted .
The family are consistently at the same address The Cricketers Arms .
Wish some branches of my tree were that easy to follow.

Doreen, It does look like these people have found all the info they can for you and it's all free. The cost of getting someone to do it for you can be expensive and it's more fun doing it yourself. If you want to get further back than 1841 then you will have to look on family search etc.
I think they have also confirmed that you do have the correct family. I have asked a question on here once and the answers were coming so fast that I couldn't keep up with the replies. It was manic, but I got there in the end.
I'd suggest you print off the thread and look through it. I find it easier to get info from it. You could them copy and paste sections into microsoft word and print it out in a proper format for you records.
Another thing -- if you google The Cricketers Inn, their website may list all previous landlords. Thats nice for your records too.

There is a lot of info around re the Cricketer's Arms. I can't access this website at work as it won't let me ...
www.meopham.org
You may not need to buy any certs if they lived in and around Meopham as the parish records are on Cityark - Medway's website.
Yes there are lots of Buggs' around - My OH has some of these in his tree and I have struggled a bit with them. He is somehow connected to your Buggs at Cricketers Arms but I don't have the paperwork here with me to check it out for you. However, I will pop back to this thread when I am at home with the computer on ...
Jill
p.s. I purchased a CD with the Meopham records on - it cost me about £6 and is much the same as the records on Cityark but I don't have to be on the internet to search the records which saves a few arguments at home!

Can i ask you what occupation Henry James was on his marriage cert of 1913, and have you looked on the 1911 census for him and his mum.?

Hi Shirley, Thanks again for info.
Henry James states on his marriage cert. 7.12.1913 that he is an Art Metal Worker living at 5 Letchford Gardens.
Susan Colley states her occupation as that of a Machinist and living at same address.
Don't think I could find him on 1911 census but will take another look.

Doreen I think the significant thing is that the only Henry James Buggs b circa 1890 that comes up is the one born in Meopham . Births had to be registered too at that time .
The info on his marriage cert too that his dad was also a Henry and was deceased and was a licensed victualler also ties in with whats been found.
I would be confident its the right family.
