I am having some difficulty naming the mother of William Henry Looms born 1884 Attleborough Warwickshire. In 1901 he is living with his father also William H Looms and his wife Rebecca and family. However, I'm not sure that Rebecca is William's mother as on the previous census he is living with his grandparent William and Maria Looms and their son, his father William but no mother. I presume she must have died but I cannot be certain. If anyone could help with this I would be very grateful. |

Thank you very much Safc. Would it be possible to find a death for Teresa this being sometime before the 1891 census or possibley a marriage to William Henry Looms. |

I think you have the wrong William Henry Looms on the 1901 census. This one looks like the one from the baptism that safc found:- |

If the William you are looking for was definitely born in Attleborough then I think he is the one born out of wedlock to Teresa Looms. |

He was definately born in Warwickshire. As it says so on the 1911 census by which time he was married to my great-grand mother the only time we can really be certain about him. His youngest daughter had also sugested he was born out of wedlock. Thank you ever so much for all your help both you and Safc. |

I have now come the Library to acess Ancestry. It seems in 1891 William Henry Looms was living with his grandparents William and Maria Looms age 7. Whilst Teresa lived with Frederick Beale and thier family. But then is living with them in 1901. Would you agree this suggests William was not Frederick's son? |

I would think that he probably wasn't. I'm almost sure that if he was Teresa's husband's child from before the marriage then he would have taken on the Beale name. |
