hi having trouble tracing the phenton i have a thomas phenton born 1884 in colchester and he was married to caroline archer but their is no record on the sites and they are not on the census.
their is no army records for him just his medals records i could do with some help
his father was james and mother matilda

yes alice was born in1923 so they must of married around that time but have checked and can not find any record of them marrying

There is a 1917 marriage record on Ancestry for Thomas but not to a Caroline.

yes found that one but cant find one to caroline have bith certs with him as father and caroline as mother have tried census but none of his family are on their

we have looked at branson as we thought they might be the same person was not sure if he change his name as his name is also thomas r but their seems to be a lack of info on the phenton

John, forgive me for saying this but it would appear that you are chasing shadows. If the birth certificate that you have is in the name of Branson:

Why do you believe that this person subsequently changed their name to Phenton? Do you have any evidence to support that theory?
