dont know if its the camel one as i havent been there and havent looked on google yet
been trying to find herberts burial place in silvertown but as he was put in a paupers grave ,im told, i can find no record of it
some things rmain a mystery

if you live near by could you pop in and ask greatgrandad Herbert how he managed to keep a wife and another woman and all the kids in one house AND all on the pay of a carman? No wonder hes in a paupers grave!
many thanks if your able to

Viviene,I have Woods in my tree but they came from Heybridge Maldon and Bromley by Bow.A good friend of mine that i went to school with was a Wood from West Ham and his dad was also born West Ham in 1917. Annie

Just to add I had another good friend that i went around with who i worked with. She was a West Ham Wood and she came from a big family and her dads brother also lived around the corner and he had 3 children.I also had Woods that lived a couple of doors from me when i was growing up.Come to think of it the name Wood was common in West Ham lol Annie

grannie annie
Dont you find that when trying to trace woods that you,ve got to seperate them from the forests?
Sorry that was awful.
Mother was born in Eastern avenue wanstead
And grandad wood her dad was born in the walthamstow in 1914 one of a twin.
He went on to become head mortician at hackney hospital,i wouldnt fancy that job but he seemed to love it and was proud of it as he,d worked his way up from porter.used to scare me silly as a child with stories about it.
His parents just made it up the aisle before they were born, bet g grandma had a job covering those little buns up in the wedding dress!!

back to the original subject for the mo.
do i get the all the people at that address even if there are say 4/5 families there living in different rooms
or do i have to specify the names im after
thanks
