Jane Evelyn Winterton born 1887 Scotland, died before 1891. There is an old family story that she "drowned in Ireland". Does anyone have access to Irish death records? Her father was in the British Army - is there any registry of Overseas Army deaths? No record of the death in England or Scotland. |

Or committed her to an institution. It is possible she was born physically or mentallly retarded, as her mother later died of tertiary syphilis! |

No, people have checked Scots ppl for me - say no record there. He was stationed in Jamaica and Malta, but that should show up on overseas deaths I guess. Thanks Mick |

I'm a bit puzzled as to why you should think drowning in the UK might qualify as an "overseas death", but anyways, one can purchase certs (or cheaper still, the uncertified images of the rego) via: |
