Hi there after such goodluck with my last request i am going to try again
I am trying to find the births of children of John Riddoch ( slater, journeyman) and Sarah Alice Percival who married on 17/09/1915 in Aberdeen.
The children were all born in Aberdeen.
I think the first child was a Robert Riddoch but my mum was sure she basically had a child a year for 10 years. As my mum is no longer with us i cannot ask.
I already have the birth for one of there children you found last week Nellie Shepherd Riddoch who was born in 1919.
I know some of the names were Robert, Elizabeth, Mary, maybe a Herbert and a John.
Hopefully you can help
many thanx

Thanks for another offer of lookups Mhairi,
1. Can you please lookup the death of Nicholas John Carney, he died aged 57 in Port Dundas Glasgow on 24th September 1911.
I have the image from Scotlands People so I don't need any of the details except I can't make out his mother Margaret Ann Carney's (deceased) maiden name as the image on SP is so poor, they wouldn't send me a copy. It looks like Tounes but the Y from the Carney married name above crosses over it so I am not sure. I have never heard of the name Tounes before , maybe its Townes so it must be wrong, well I think it is.
2. Birth of Mary Ferguson in Dundee 1914, birth either 16th or 20th of May 1914. Sorry I don't have the exact date!! Mother surname is Mary Carney and fathers name is Thomas Ferguson. I think they would have been living in City Road area of Dundee but not 100% sure.
Mhairi is there anyway I could have a photocopy of the above birth record, I would of course pay you.
Many thanks again Betty

Hello Mhairi, I am trying to find my fathers sisters. Annie BELL Elsie BELL Molly/Mary BELL They lived in Torphichen Street from 1906 when Marion was born. another sister.
The parents were Thomas Bell and Catherine Ross.
Molly/Mary could have been b before 1900 but I think
Annie and Elsie were after 1906. Annie only died in the past 10 years and was a regular church member I think the Methodist Church. and still lived at the same address.
I have tried on scotlandspeople to find them but no luck.
If you have the time I would appreciate any help.
Silver.

Hi Mhairi,
Perhaps I will have some more luck with this Donaldson birth lookup :-)
Parents: Francis Donaldson and Mary Wright were married in Milton Parish Church, Glasgow on 12th July 1907. I have been told they had three sons James, George & Francis within a short time after. So I would envisage a period of 1908-1912.
If you could find the details of even one of the sons, it will help me trace the family forward. I believe they all ended up in Baillieston, Glasgow.
Many thanks, hope I am not asking the impossible.
bye Helen

Hi Mhairi
If you haven't got too many requests already, would you be able to please check for the death certificates of my grandparents and their son?
I'd love to go myself but I live quite far from home now and there's very little chance of me ever being back to check.
Edward Cairns Munro - DoB 04/01/1920 - born Queensferry - parents William Munro & Beatrice Cairns - died approx April 2000 in Lochgelly - not sure on cause of death - he was a widower at the time as my grandmother (below) died before him
Christina McAngus Sutherland - married name Munro - DoB 29/09/1921 - born Crossgates, Dunfermline - parents David Sutherland and Margaret McAngus - died approx 1998 in Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy - had stomach cancer so cause of death related
They were married on 01/02/1951 in Dunfermline, though I don't suppose that is relevant for the search. My mother (Christina McAngus Sutherland Munro - married name Robson, other names Davis) might have been the person listed as notifying of the death on my grandmothers certificate.
Son is David and I have very little info about him except that he was born in the early 1950's, was killed in an accident when a pallet fell off the back of a lorry and crushed him, he was a teenager at the time and he lived in North Street, Lochgelly when it occurred.
Would be so much easier if you could get these certificates online but I guess they're too recent :(
Thank you in advance for your help
PS - hope your little cousin is better :)

I would have loved to have printed of the cert for you but restrictions apply and you can only print out births up to 1906. If you wanted a copy you would have to get in touch with the GROS or your local records office. The birth was on the 16th of May 1914.

I looked for the birth of a child but couldnt see one in the area where Annie died and there where too many to search through. Hopefully, in the future, they will up date their databases and you'll be able to see the mothers maiden name as well. They already have it for post 1930 births and it cuts searching time.
Silver
Way too many Mary's to search through and i couldnt find them in the census (1891 and 1901) to help narrow down the areas incase she was born pre 1901.

Kerry i didnt see your reply until just now. Techincally the thread was closed when you added to it but i'll be going again. Watch out for the thread at the end of the month.
To everyone who asked, my little cousin was fine. Actually he behaved better than he usually does so he must have been sick. I hate looking after people who are vomiting though, i just cant stand it. Yuck!
He is blond, blue eyed with these really big eye lashes and looks as if butter wouldnt melt in his mouth...huh! All i can say is that looks can be deceptive. He also has an attitude that resembles a teenagers...oh and yesterday he told me i smelt funny...lovely child!
Anywho, thanks for being patient! Mhairi
