How wierd! I already have the Smoothys in 1871, but I was looking at that Timothy family and thinking Timothy, John DR, what a coincidence, my gt grandfather was John David Robert Smoothy - and then I saw the father b. Chelmsford, just like my gt gt grandfather the beadle, and his wife in Stoke [actually Stoke Poges] - it IS my family! I can only assume that whoever mistranscribed Emily as a Timothy in 1891 has done the same with the family in 1871. Thank you all again for the time & trouble you have taken to look for me. I am sooo grateful. nell |

Nell Still can't find her! Are you sure she didn't emigrate for a time and then come back??? Or maybe she got married, got widowed and went back to calling herself Smoothy? Or maybe I'm clutching at straws now!!! Lou |

Lou Thank you so much for your efforts. I think she must be around and probably in the home counties, but in cunning disguise! Cheers nell |

Haha! Well her big sister and younger brother were very involved with the church, so I suppose she could have done a few christenings in her spare time! nell |
