Thank you very much for all your quick replies.
I could not find confirmation of father Frederick's death and presumed he died during WW1. I wondered whether his wife Alice had re-married, and queried Ernest1921 surname as the mother's MMN would still be Andrews if she re-married.
It seems odd that there is a gap of 11 years before more children were born!

Also, I did notice a Betty Jawdynska (Mead) in the 1939 Register and presumed the other person was her mother, as the father was in an automotive occupation. But I could not find a death record for him. Perhaps he was unwell elsewhere and died in 1960, as Shirley mentions.

Again, thank you all for the extra information.
Terence.

It’s always possible there were other pregnancies or even still births in the gap between the youngest two children .

Who knows !

But they were all together in 1921 and indeed later because of the birth of Betty !

And still in 1925 when the daughter Alice Mary married

It is also possible that one or other of them was not very fertile ....................

my maternal grandmother had 4 children, born 1903, 1910, 1915, and 1925.

My mother was the eldest, and there was never ever any mention of still births or miscarriages, though that could always have been the reason.

Hi. I just signed up for a month. My great grandmother was Alice Mead born 9 July 1904, and died on 14 March 1991 in my home town of Worthing, Sussex, at the age of 86. Happy to help if I can.

Welcome to Genes and the boards.

Whilst Terence has been researching his branches of the Meads family for years it is quite possible that he will not spot your post.

Click on his name and send him a pm. Genes will notify him( assuming he hadn’t recently changed his email).

Be aware, however, that Genes never notifies anyone of new posts.

Thank you. That is helpful. I did send Terence a pm as well. I will send him some info that I have in case my membership runs out before he can respond. Perhaps if anyone else knows him they could give him a prod.
Many thanks
Andy
