year of death 1950 - age at death 92 = born 1857 but born 1856

Thank you greyghost for those articles. So he committed suicide by throwing himself off a cliff. That is so sad.
Thank you very much greyghost.

Are you perhaps seeing the record which is appears to be of the death of William Gerald Rowe?
Although, 1950 seems rather early for John to be openly the spouse of Gerald - must be a mistranscription.
William Geraid Rowe in the UK and Ireland, Newspapers.com™ Obituary Index, 1800s-current Name: William Geraid Rowe Gender: Male Death Age: 92 Birth Date: abt 1858 Residence Place: Eastbourne Death Date: 2 Dec 1950 Death Place: 5, Rock Avenue, Barnstaple Burial Date: 4 Dec Burial Place: Plymouth Obituary Date: 7 Dec 1950 Obituary Place: Barnstaple, Devon, England Newspaper Title: The North Devon Journal - Herald Father: J.
