As the marriage was in Poplar, this MIGHT be Esther's birth:

BUT there are lots of births of girls named Esther Solomons in various parts of London in feasible years. You need the info from the marriage cert to narrow it down.

His wife may still be living, for all I know, so I've edited out her first name .

As Frances is a Benjamin it is likely that Ronnie is family.

It is possible that Ronnie as Ronald is on a tree on Genes, tree owner David Benjamin.

Added: one of Ronnie granddaughters has a tree on Ancestry, but it has very little information.

The tree on Ancestry gives a different maiden surname for Esther / Ester - but no dates or other info, apart from claiming that she was born in "Hollande".

There's no marriage in England/Wales for her with that surname - which in any case is not that of Ronald Ivor's mother, unless she had been married before - also not in England/Wales.

In 1957 and 1958 he was living with wife, mother Esther, and a Marie Solomons in Bethnal Green

2002-2007 his wife was living in West Sussex. As far as I can see, she is still living - though not at the same address, which has been sold three times since then.
In the same years Ronald was in Buckinghamshire.

Thank you all so very much for the valuable information and for your time and effort to help me trace this ancestor. Ronnie, was my half brother. My Father, Moss Benjamin never talked about the children from his first marriage to Esther Solomons. I knew that Ronnie had been a BBC cameraman and he had a sister and that is all. I had hoped to meet my half-siblings one day, but time and age has played a part sadly. My Father, Moss Benjamin, married Gertrude Grimes, my Mother. Both my parents had two children by their first marriages. I met and knew more about my maternal half-siblings. I was not aware of the website: FreeBMD. Thank you very much for pointing me in that direction. A big thank you for the Register entries and dates and names of spouses.it is all absolutely valuable information for me. I appreciate it very much.

I would like to add that I learned after my father had passed that he been in contact with his first two children over the years, but he had not spoken about them to me. I wanted to know more about my half siblings and although time and age is against that, you have all very kindly provided so much information which will help me to research further.
