The inferred spouse Sarah A Shaw would have been living at the time the register was collected in September 1939. It does not refer to a previous wife.

Can only think this is another family perhaps then as Sarah Ann Shaw had already passed away. Thank you

Sometimes you just have to take out a free trial or a short term sub with FMP or Ancestry so that you an sort out family yourself.

Just remember, in both cases, you need to make sure you have cancelled before the subs roll on.

In England many libraries offer access to , usually, Ancestry.

I can only find one baptism of children of William & Sarah

Baptism: 2 Nov 1902 Christ Church, Everton, Lancashire, England
Edith May Shaw - [Child] of William Shaw & Sarah
Born: 4 Sep 1902
Abode: 86 Buckingham St.
Occupation: Carpet Layer

Which is presumably where all the other children were born as that is the address in 1911

The Sarah Ann who died in 1934 was living in Rice Lane Walton. The burial record says 'removed to family grave see L26. Don't know where L26 is though.

L26 might mean Lair or Plot 26.

107 Rice Lane was Walton Hospital.
There are records of lots of births and deaths there, on other pages in the image of that record.

I think I prefer this burial

Name: William Henry Shaw
Age: 69
Birth Year: abt 1867
Burial Date: 15 Aug 1936
Burial Place: Walton Park, Lancashire, England
living in Boswell St

in the margin it says 'family grave L26

If that Sarah Ann death is one you are certain of L26 is the same reference

ArgyllGran
