I've been trying to find my original notes on John and Margaret and their children, but having just moved house they seem to be mislaid. I have found though some emails from three contacts I had in the UK that were all from that line and they all have that same list of children. The irony is that they all have Henry married to Jane Stringfellow as stated above. According to the references above though, the father of the Henry that married Jane was Edmund.

Peers is in 19 trees on Ancestry, but none of them (as far as I can see) list Henry as one of his siblings.

The Henry in the censuses with wife Jane defintiely married Jane Stringfellow, going by the birth records of the sons:

eg -
NAYLOR, WILLIAM mmn STRINGFELLOW
GRO Reference: 1859 J Quarter in PRESCOT Volume 08B Page 577

NAYLOR, JOHN mmn STRINGFELLOW
GRO Reference: 1854 J Quarter in PRESCOT Volume 08B Page 495

So he is definitely the son of Edmund and Ellen - shown in the marriage already posted.

Also his baptism:

: Henry Nailor
in the Lancashire, England, Church of England Births and Baptisms, 1813-1911
Name: Henry Nailor
Birth Date: 16 Sep 1816
Baptism Date: 27 Oct 1816
Parish: Prescot, St Helens, Lancashire, England
Father: Edmund Nailor
Mother: Ellen Nailor
Register Type: Parish Registers

So we can count him out.

Can't see any baptism or anything for Henry, son of John and Margaret.

Did your contacts say where they found his name?

Looks llike Benjamin may have emigrated to Canada - but the details of parents and siblings have been added by a Findagrave contributor, so may not be correct :

The Findagrave contributor claims that Margaret's maiden name was Waterhouse.
Born 1775 in Blackburn; died England c1820.

The contributor also claims that John was born in Lancashire in 1766, and died c1820.

That couple are in multiple trees on Ancestry, but the only child listed with them is Benjamin - because the trees belong to descendants of Benjamin.
Most have copied from each other as usual.

I'd actually forgotten what a nightmare this family was. I hadn't researched it much for a few years and now I know why! As I said earlier in this thread, we have just moved house so only have my computer notes to go on. Reading through this thread I'm thinking I need to take a couple of steps back.
There are an awful lot of Naylors in the St. Helens and surrounding area and there are a lot with same name, similar birth years, which makes it very difficult.
I know that Joseph, born 1820, is my direct line and it's from his marriage certificate that I got his father as John.
In 1841 & 1851 census his brothers James and Peers were living with mom Margaret at Ravenhead Glass Works Lodge.
In 1871 Peers is with his sister Margaret and niece Alice.
In 1881 he's with his sister Margaret and niece Jane.
Peers never married and neither did Margaret.
From memory I know I explored other branches of the family and no doubt have notes on Alice and Jane, but nothing on my computer.
A number of years ago I visited the UK and the cemetery where some of the Naylors are buried. I was very limited on time and only managed to see a few of them but one I did take a picture of was for a James died 3 May 1878 age 54 and Margaret 5 June 1899 age 77. I think James was married to Margaret Norris.
As to Henry, maybe I'm guilty of taking the word of the contacts I had in the UK - something I know should definitely not be done.
So, until my notes surface I think I'm going to have to do some more digging on this.
