Hi, wondered if some-one has the time to look up in 1911 census for John Frederick Bainbridge and Maud Harriett nee Jones. There is a marriage for them in 1907 in Guisbro, Yorkshire . At the moment no further information. This is for a friend desperately trying to piece her family together with very little knowledge apart from some names. Thank-you for any help. Teresa |

Thank-you Mel, I did find that. All my friend knew was that her Grandad Henry Bainbridge was bought up by his Aunt and Uncle referred to as Jack and Maud. I know quite a lot of Jacks are really John and was hoping this could be them!! |

Mel, No sorry, she is trying to see if her elderly mum can recall anything but not hopeful so it is difficult. I do appreciate everyone trying though. |

How old is your friend? Or how old is her "elderly" mother? Perhaps we could then guess at a possible timeframe. |

She's 48, born 1972. Looks like he is the wrong John as his wife in the census is not Maud?? |

As your friend was born 1972, her mother was possibly born about 1930s-40s, and therefore Henry may have been born about 1915 or earlier, at a very rough guess. |

Yorkshire is very likely. I did find a birth for a Henry Bainbridge March 1915 registered at Selby. |

That Henry was illegitimate - could be a reason for being brought up by an aunt and uncle: |
