Find Ancestors

I know Alice Holden 1846-1922 born Clitheroe, Lancashire.
I think her Mother is Margaret Holden b1826 but can't find the Father.
On 1841 census I can see a Margaret Holden living with Roger Holden at Stubbins, Mitton, Lancashire. Roger is 20, a Stone Mason and Margaret is 15.
Further down on the census on the same page is John Holden, Farmer with wife Elizabeth and children they also live at Stubbins, Mitton and have a daughter Margaret
5 months old.
I don't know if Roger and Margaret are married or if Margaret b.1826 is part of the family of John Holden, or indeed if Roger is also part of this same family.
I am very confused, please could anyone shed any light on this, thank you.

A note of correction against Alice's name on Ancestry reads:

Holden rather than Whittaker
Added an alternative name.

Cross referencing with other sources (marriage and birth of 4 children) indicate an error during the census taking.

I'm still confused I assume Margaret's maiden name was Holden and that Alice must have been illegitimate as it says Margaret's Father was John Holden.

So thank you to all who have spent time looking up for me, it would have been better if I could have sent off for Alice's birth certificate, guess I can't win them all.
