I have a marriage that I think is mine but I would like to know for sure I've looked at the sites that I know of but can't see any details it could be a registry office marriage
But I have in my notes April 1903 at St Barnabas Openshaw Manchester
I would be grateful if some one can find the info I need

I know if it's a registry marriage you don't get the info

As you say I'll have to buy the certificate

Yes I do know all that but their are a few John Hornby's in Manchester so although I'm hoping it's my John I would just like to make sure,
Then I can go into it a bit more Like Rosins 1911 census the one I've got she is with her Dad Brothers And John but she is down as being born in Bedfordshire also her brothers yet the only births I can find are for
Manchester mother's maiden name Stone and it has British subjects by parentage??

So before I try and find out what that is about ? I do feel like saying sod it and carrying on with them!!
You are quick you've put 1911 census down Also Rosina was down as Rose on GRO index

Don't know exactly what you are looking for, but Rosina's parents were William & Elizabeth

Right I'm getting all confused John's 1882 parents are Foster and Martha
Rosina 's parents William and Elizabeth Thorn

the birth I looked up are Rosina and her brother mothers maiden name Thorn ? I came to this conclusion because the 3 children were their with the same mother in Manchester and I couldn't find them in Bedfordshire.

Just seen another tree with the same marriage for John And Rosina but John's father is John mother Catherine so this is why I need the marriage certificate

Sorry for confusing you

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 1 Jun 2020 18:48

Sorry, but you’ve completely lost me

and you haven’t answered my question about John Hornby’s MMN so I’ll leave you to it

Sorry thought I'd explained I'll try

My John Hornby 1882 Manchester parents Foster Hornby and Martha Woodhouse they had several children
I found this marriage for John and Rosina Stone but as their are a few John Hornby's I wanted to check it was the right one but not being able to check the details of the marriage it was possibly a registry marriage.

So all the details for John & Rosina that you got were correct
When I saw another tree on ancestry with the same couple John & Rosina but with different parents it made me think I hadn't got the right family but looking at this other tree I think she has got a few things wrong

So I'm going with it's the right marriage and working from their
The births you got for the John & Rosina -Lillian John Thomas are what I've got plus 1939 register Doris

The births for Rosina and her brothers Thomas and William on 1911 census it had they were born in Bedford but I couldn't find them in Bedford I found the same names and Dof b in Manchester mothers maiden name Thorn ?so I took it that that was them??
And 1911 census it has British subjects through parentage ?? not sure what that mean

Hope you can understand a bit more on what I was after and thank you for all your input even if I lost it

Sylvia
