Hi,
i am after some information about William Arnold born c1846 in Bideford, Devon. I am wondering if he is the great grandfather of my grandad (Complicated i know) William Francis Arnold born 1916-1983.
William F Arnold's dad was Alfred Ernest Arnold born 1886 approx but this is where i start questioning my findings as if i am correct his father may be William Arnold 1946 Bideford and mother Sarah Ann Pickard. I do not know if i am right and if i am i cant seem to get much further.

yes William F Arnold's mother was Margaret Callard who married Alfred Ernest Arnold. However William Francis Arnold was born in 1916. I think he was one of a twin but he other died at birth. I also think that one of his sisters committed suicide as her husband died in a car crash and the story i have been told is that the police handed over all blood stained money and belongings to her. I remember Uncle Ern vaguely but i was born in 1984 so dont know much.
Alrfed Ernest Arnold born in stoke damerel- his parents are what I am questioning- William Arnold and Sarah Ann Pickard from Bideford.
