I wonder if the family went abroad for a better life, if they didn't die in the workhouse. There is no one left alive now who we could ask, the few that are left say these things were never talked about.

Deborah, I think you're still confusing the two families? ( or I am lol)
The family of Sarah, who then married Willetts is not the Amelia in the workhouse in 1891 who with other children was born to Abraham and Marina ( nee Pulley)
Sorry if I am misunderstanding :-)

Alviegal I think that might be a mistake?
IF this is the Sarah Barnett who married Smith and then Willetts, her father was Charles, might he have been put on the 2nd marriage as Smith?

I do know that another family member tried to look into this quite a few years ago and gave up as it got too complicated, I can see why now.
I am going to have to study all this in a quiet place, try and get my head round it, I am really very grateful to you all though.

I think we may have the 1908 one, so possibly the other one, as my relative told me today about the name Willett on it and the fact that she had put herself down as a spinster and that by 1908 she had a few children, we thought it may be because she maybe pretended to be married to Willett so it looked better.
We may have the 1920 certificate, I could make a phone call tomorrow to find out.
