I am trying to find the baptism record of Catherine Findley born in Combe down - Somerset Bath - according to her census entry.
Catherine died in stoke in trent in 1889.
She was the wife of William Platt b 1829 ish
William & Catherine married 28th August 1853 in Manchester then they must of movedto stoke On trent.
Catherine’s father is down as Thomas Findley in her marriage cert
Any suggestions onCatherine’s mother’s name would be great

What are your known and proved facts that have taken you back to Catherine??
There is a William Platt b Q1 1866 Stoke on Trent with mmn Whieldin too, but neither need be your William. although registration started in 1837 there were no penalties until the mid 1870's for not registering

Possible she could have been born other than Findley, or variation but her Mother married/remarried and she took that surname.
Could have made it all up.
Not seeing a Catherine Findlay or variation born Somerset on the 1851

Was there an occupation given for Thomas on the marriage certificate please?
This is the only Thomas that I can see in Somerset in the correct timescale. Could be, perhaps be a stepfather to Catherine?
