The 1911 posted by AG looks a good bet - Married for 33 years would be right from 1878-1911. This looks like the same hand that has completed the original form.
Then it's been altered to Widower and none for children (these both look like the same hand but not that of the original).
As it was the married woman who was supposed to complete number of years married and children born then the 33 and none have been crossed out, this time in red, so probably by the enumerator as wrongly completed.
Can't explain the Old Milford for pob !!

grey ghost Thank you. I'm currently trawling through the 1901 census trying to find Ffynongleision
It's in Penbryn Cardigan but despite finding the enumerators page I'm blowed if I can find the address to see who was living there. Can find it easily in other census. :-S
You are correct there are a number of butchers called William Lloyd!!

Probably William's parents' marriage:
Marriages Jun 1852 (>99%) Lloyd Stephen Cardigan 11b 21 Rees Jane Cardigan 11b 21
Therefore William's birth;
LLOYD, WILLIAM mms REES GRO Reference: 1859 D Quarter in CARDIGAN Volume 11B Page 2
(Just checking in case he had actually been born in Milford Haven , in spite of what the censuses say - but no. )

Finally found the farm address given in the newspaper article. The James family were farming there so it possible that William Lloyd moved the sheep to slaughter them elsewhere. Whether it is my William or another is something I probably won't ever know given that he was in Glamorganshire in 1901 ;-)

Chris thank you.
I found the report of Margaret's wedding last night too so I can get it translated. It mentions several family members. :-D I believe at the end it mentions the death of William Lloyd and there is a death of William Lloyd in 1916 of the correct age.
Thank you for the link to William Davies and for all your help.

Still don't see William in 1881 or 1891.
Will have to come back to this later. Ancestry.co.uk is playing up this norming - and was last night too. It keeps throwing me out and bringing up Ancestry.com pages instead, and inviting me to pay a sub.
