I'm trying to find William Lloyd in a census after 1871 when he is at home with his parents RG10 piece 5539 Folio 27 Page 8.
I believe he marries Dorothy Nicholas in the Sept Q of 1877 and daughter Margaret is born in Mar Q 1878 I can't find him in 1881 or 1891 although I have Dorothy and Margaret in both census living with Dorothy's parents. He appears in 1901 with Margaret in Glamorganshire. Dorothy is in Pembrokeshire in 1901 and 1911 I would be grateful if anyone can find him in 1881,1891 and 1911

Well somethings not right here. Either the age of Margaret has been entered wrongly or the enumerator has entered the relationship wrong?
Ooo, I suppose he could have had his daughter VERY young

Not doubting, but gives an idea of what sort of age he might be in those missing census years, it seems he got younger as the years went by!
I wonder if they were not compatible living together, but seems at least he and Margaret kept in touch. Could he have "taken up" with someone in between times and lived under another name? Or abroad, but family didn't go with him. Clutching at straws here.

Looks as if he was prosecuted for removing sheep from farm in 1904 in contravention of the sheep scab regulations so was back in Pembrokeshire then.
Just checking out spelling of farm name.
Thanks Chris for reminder of newspaper link :-D

Perhaps they only married for respectability, as she was maybe pregnant at the time, but then they never lived together.
Maybe ?? - although he says he has no children. First he said he was married, then scored that out and wrote "widower". He wrote "Pembrokeshire" first for his POB, and later added Old Milford. (I know Nevern's nowhere near Milford Haven - if that's what's meant by Old Milford.)
But he's a butcher, the right age, and the address is almost identical to that in 1901.
From Wikipedia: "The old district of Ystradyfodwg was named after the church at Ton Pentre."
