Mary married in 1835 so 12 yrs ! Maybe he was mistreating her ? And as you know hard to get Divorce then also the 1841 census above is not my relation but thanks for your help ! |

If you mean the 1808 baptism (Calery) and the 1806 marriage (Dolery), it's probably how the transcriber interpreted the handwriting of the parish clerk. |

Looking through the Johngrenham list of parish records it does look as though you are out of luck there |

James was indeed son of Mary Ann she did later Marry As for Mary and Joseph Emery assuming Mary hadn't Divorced or been told her husband James had died didn't Marry Joseph he was my gg Grandfather in all but name and they were together over 30 yrs till his Death in1884 i can find no information at all regarding James Holmes other than his marriage to Mary in 1835 maybe he was mistreating her and she left him !? |

Erika thanks for your input ! Very Remiss of me to delete ! Mary and Joseph didn't marry I'm assuming still married to James Holmes maybe he was mistreating her ?! James son of Mary Anne Daughter of Mary and Joseph Emery Mary Anne later married a Matthew Dale James was witness at his mother's wedding William was my g Grandfather B c 1850 d 1916 Harriet his wife 1855 d 1910 Mary Costello B 1808 d 1897 age 89 alot still to know but some I may never know ! |

Yes James was son of Mary's Daughter Mary Ann yes she was unmarried not uncommon amongst working class back then ! Reg Mary she was with Joseph Emery over 30 yrs until his Death don't know why they didn't Marry but I know she married a James Holmes in 1835 can find no trace of him at all ! |
