I have a friend who has heard she is a descendent of John Pollard The man that shot the man that shot Lord Nelson. John was born 27/July1787 Cawsand Cornwall d. 22/April 1868 The lady I am trying to help is Wendy Pollard born Hull. 1945 I know you are much better experts at ancestry than me I was hoping someone was as fascinated by this story as I was. and would do us the honours "Thank You"

The thing to do is work backwards from Wendy, i.e. her parents' names, grandparents' names etc.

FreeBMD has a Wendy L. Pollard born 1945, Hull, mother's maiden name is Parkin.

Then there's a John T. Pollard married to Amy Parkin, 1936, Hull. Wendy's parents?

A John T. Pollard was born in 1912, Hull with mother's maiden name Ezard.

Then there's an Edward Pollard married to Martha Ezard, 1904, Pocklington. Any chance that these are Wendy's grandparents?

lee Pollard has a tree on Ancestry,but he doesn't have John Pollard 27/7/1787 on it.

Of the 6 children John had, the only male was Horatio John, who appears to have died without getting married. If your friend is a descendant, it would be more likely that she is decended from one of the unmarried daughters? Might be worth following them through to later census.
