Don't be surprised. We had a similar rumour in our family dating back to the Battle of Waterloo. I researched my line and could find no such link. |

Of the 6 children John had, the only male was Horatio John, who appears to have died without getting married. If your friend is a descendant, it would be more likely that she is decended from one of the unmarried daughters? Might be worth following them through to later census. |
