Thomas was born on 7th May 1892. He served during the First World War, being awarded the Military medal. I have a photograph of him in uniform. with I believe the medal ribbon on the uniform and would suggest the photograph was taken near the end of the war. On the photograph is a young lady and a child. On the back is written from Tom and Deny (or Dery). |

Just a thought, as I am not sure when he died can someone do a 1939 check to see if he is shown on that survey. he was born 7.5.1892 |

He's not showing on the 1939 register as far as I can see. I had a look earlier for him and also tried to look for the lady. |

Thanks for the check, it was always a long shot. I am struggling to find a death locally at the moment. |

Having a problem with FMP so can't look at the image for this record. Wondered if it could be your man. When I first checked the military records I was looking for Thomas but as your man's birth was registered as Tom, it is likely that would be the name he used when he enlisted. |

I do not think it will be the same person. My Thomas was definitely serving in 1916 when he was awarded the Military medal and presented with it in November 1918. |

He was baptised as Tom. You refer to him as Thomas but I assume you have searched for a possible marriage and death as Tom as well as Thomas. |

My apologies, having checked my sources, yes I should have been searching for Tom and not Thomas. Having done some checks I have not yet come up with any likely results except the one shown by Dea. |

I have checked the back of the card, and although the writing is poor, yes it could be Daisy. I think is the next step is to buy the marriage certificate to show whther it is the correct marriage, and it would appear to be the nearest match |
