It would be great if you could come back when you get that marriage certificate Bruce and update us. If it is your Tom, it may be worth buying Daisy's second marriage certificate to check if she is divorced or widowed. That would narrow the time scale for a possible death for Tom. |

Certificate obtained and confirms the marriage between Tom and Daisy Gertrude Darlow. They both gave an address in Luton. Witnesses were obviously related to Daisy. Searches have traced them to addresses in Grimsby up to 1932 but I need more time in the local library to search after that year. I have not yet come up with a death for Tom locally. |

Ruby Johnson was born in1923 and is the daughter of Tom and Daisy. Can anyone find her on the 1939 register please |

Would Ruby not be one of the closed records in the same household as Daisy in 1939? |

Yes she would be one of the closed records. I had missed that there was two closed records mentioned earlier. |

Re the baptisms shown at St Martins on 27.9.1892. St Martin's church was not built at that stage. the 27th is the date of the baptism at St Paul's and it would appear that there has been a transcription error as he is unlikely to be two baptisms on two churches on the same day. |

Still trying to trace the death of Tom. Has anyone access to world wide Ancestry. Death shown in Alabama of a Tom Johnson wife Daisy. I have only access to UK records. Thanking in advance |

Forget that last request. Ancestry has electoral rolls for 1939 which show Tom alive in 1939 with his wife in Luton. She was at the same address in the 1939 register where she is shown as married. |

I am still trying to locate the death of Tom Johnson. I have now found a newspaper article dated 22 February 1946 which states that a decree was granted to his wife on grounds of his misconduct with Ethel Stiddulph. However I cannot find any records relating to Ethel. Can anyone assist please? |

Many thanks for your assistance. I had seen this but had put it to one side due to the slight age difference. I will apply for the death certificate to prove one way or another. Once again many thanks |
