Thank you and that is beginning to make things a little clearer, I had found Elizabeth with Henry and Charles his brother in Londo. At the age of 44 Elizabeth was living by own means and at the age of 23/24 it was still her and the boys and no mention of the father. Tried to find a marriage for Elizabeth who I think has a maiden name of Swindon/Swinden.

Ok found the parents marriage and father is the same name

A DOUBLE LIFE

On Friday at Southend before J W Burrows (in the chair) and E Van Esqrs., Henry Alexander Christy, a clerk of Colchester Road, Prittlewell was charged with embezzling two sums of 10s, the property of his employers, Messrs L & L Utton, brickmakers of Southend. Mr Fawcett Wood appeared to prosecute.....

Defendeant pleaded guilty and repeated that he got into difficulties. Supt Marden said defendant was a married man with three children and had been leading a double life with a woman in Colchester Road. There were three little children there, and in all probability it was the cause of the present case.

There is another case of fraud for him in 1915 which states he was still keeping the two families going and now had 9 children in total. He was using alias surname- Grevatt.

Looks like he only had one more with Florrie after 1911, which makes 4 with Florrie and 5 with another woman!

Elizabeth Ann Christie mother of Henry Alexander and son Charles who actually looks to be Jonas Charles Christie.

Jonas Charles Christie 1878/9 died 1958 married 1902 to Nellie Blundell ,they had Winifred Nellie Christie 1903.

Ah- this looks like his double life lady!- the article in 1911 stated his other lady lived on the Colchester Road and had three young children.

The second article in 1915 states age as 39- makes his age about correct. I'm pretty certain the double life man is the Henry that married Florrie.

And the number of children between the two women is correct.

OMG!! Confused to say the least and a no wonder I have been struggling lol

I was beginning to think that his dad was also doing the same as Elizabeth Ann is married 1881/91/1901 but widowed in 1911.

I think my concern is that if this Henry bad boy Christie led a double life and was lying about his double life and possibly place of birth as well as theft could he have lied about his parents etc.

Hopefully the marriage cert will confirm his father Derek. He had no reason to lie on the certificate.
