Find Ancestors

I am trying to find more information on a Henry Thomas Carter born 19th April 1908 born in Faulkland, Somerset. He received a British Empire Medal in World War Two. He was in the Navy and served on a submarine. He was released to shore November 1945.

I know this because I've got the paperwork for it but there is nothing online that I can find! I can't find his parents or anything like that. I know he was married to a Mary Fisher/Scorer but they divorced after the war and she married on.

He had three children with Mary. They are named Graham, Ann and Malcolm. I then can continue the family tree down to myself but I want to work up and find out more about Henry Thomas Carter's parents and grandparents etc.

I am new to all this research and really struggling. I was wondering if anyone could give me a hand or anything?
