Find Ancestors

Rupert Lyle born in 1861, who married a Maud Hancock born in 1894, in the year 1919 in Lambeth London
I am really stuck, cannot find him anywhere, except his marriage.

on his marriage certificate it states that he was an Insurance Clerk, and resided at 220 Battersea Bridge Road, Battersea, London.
his father was Rupert William Lyle, deceased, of Independent means

we have Mauds father, Thomas James Hancock, a Taylor Crown Manufacturer, retired.
Maud did re marry in 1929, classed as widow, but cannot find her divorce from Rupert.
we are after tracing the Lyle family, but cannot find any records, other than him being at St Pancras workhouse

They had 2 sons, Rupert born in 1919, I am in contact with his daughter, and the other Charles, who was given to Barnardo's, is my husbands father, he was adopted and re named Geoffrey A Battrick

You may have to buy a copy of his marriage cert, to find out his age and his father's name, which would give us a starting point to try to trace him.
