There is an interesting bit in the Manchester Times (can't copy) but in essence it is a missing person enquiry for a Josiah Crook by his daughter Mary Elizabeth. Josiah was last heard of in S America on Dec 4 1890. Left Manchester Nov 1888 where is was working for a railway company as a blacksmith. |

familysearch has numerous records of a Guillermo Crook, seaman, born in Chile 1925, entering the USA 1947-1957 |

Cane - it might have been useful to know that he was in S America when the 1891 census was taken. I and possibly others spent some time looking for him possibly working away from home in England. |
