I have a Ewen MacPherson born 1833 Kilmuir, Invernesshire. Unfortunately I do not have his parents and/or siblings. He married a Jessie Cant and they had 10 children, the first , James, being born October 1859. James in turn married a Rose Flavell and as they lived in England I have been able to gain census information on this part of the family. It is when the family lived in Scotland that things have come to a halt. |

If you can access English censuses, you should be able also to access Scottish ones, apart from 1911, which is on Scotland's people ONLY. |

If the parents married in 1852, there will be no marriage certificate as statutory registration didn't begin in Scotland until 1855. The best you can hope for is an entry in the parish registers. |
