Really interesting thread. Philip Jervis MacPherson was my Great Grandad. Although I lived in London most of my life I now live in Scotland and really interested in finding out more about my Scottish Ancestors.

I have a tree on Ancestry. Philip was my G Grandfather and Ewen was his Father (my GG Grandfather) Philip left Scotland and lived in London. He married a girl from Wales had 4 surviving Children. His wife died very young and all/most of the Children ended up in Chidren’s homes. It looks like James followed him to London. Although his branch seem to have ended up in the Midlands my research led me to believe that James died in the Workhouse in Rochford Essex.
