Trying to go further back from my husbands Grandfather. Her was born in the UK probably Birmingham as we have a photo of him outside a butchers shop....it was their Christmas display, at age 22 ? in 1908. He came to NZ in 1910 and married Alison Galloway. |

You can use this free site to look for bmd's from Q3 1837 when Registration began to approximately the 1960's at present. It's an on going project which will eventually go to 1984 |

Jude.......my Ernest was a butchers boy in UK and when he came to NZ. My husbands Father took over from him in the Butchery in NZ. |

The last census in 1901 shows Ernest as a Fruiterer's help, presumably working for his Father. Who's to say what his job was by the time he emigrated. His marriage certificate will hopefully tell you his father's name/occupation? |
