I am looking for help again.I cannot find anything for Edward John Greenhill born 1876 in Tenterden Kent. Father John Greenhill died 1880 and mother Eliza (nee Barham) died 1894 and is buried with her husband in Rolvenden churchyard. I have nothing for Edward after 1891 census age 15 with his mother before her death. She left a small amount of money but looks as though to her brother.

I have tried all the possible BMD but all I can find is a possible entry on a passenger list in 1909 to Canada. Are there enough details on these to identify him?

There is an E Greenhill 1909 leaving from Liverpool to Quebec on Empress of Britain. He is single and travelling alone. It gives no age or details other than sex. for passengers.

No it isnt the Tottenham one...the father was a bricklayer from Herts and the son Edward was born Tottenham.

I don't see a passenger list so far for E Greenhill.

Well, it's a possibility, but without age or any other info, it's impossible to know for sure.
It doesn't actually say if he's single or married.

On second thoughts, I think this is Edgar, posted above, arriving in Quebec a week after E Greenhill left Liverpool, on the same ship.

It could be either of those last two passengers. Did they have immigration records at place of arrival?

I think I have some of the relatives in Canada maybe he went out to them after his mother died. Maybe the Elliott family I will look.

It doesn't give his DOB, and for country of birth, place of origin, and religion it says "Not given". The "occupation" box is blank.
The enumerator, or whoever gave the information about all the lodgers, didn't know anything about him , in fact.

I have found that his Fathers sister Elizabeth married James Elliott whose son Samuel married Dorothy Egles 1878. in Ontario and emigrated there in 1881..living in Milwaukee Wisconsin. So perhaps he went there.Can I find a census for that are fro 1901 onwards?
